Pulsar Fusion

UK’s First Green Rocket

brief

Our product development initially involved planning the creation of parts of the engine and components in CAD against the specification supplied.

Following a review, further refinement was undertaken, to ensure the best possible product outcome. The output was 3D CAD, suitable for manufacture and a complete bill of materials.

Pulsar fusion

Mechanical engineering product design

We conducted detailed product research into space propulsion thrusters. Our team sourced potential partners who can support in generating the most appropriate specification and the procurement of potential components. We summarized our findings and outlined a plan of action, to enable the progression of the potential design.

For Pulsar Fusion, we knew that the space propulsion landscape is heavily regulated, which drove us to be extra critical of our own designs. Extensive model testing and feedback sessions occurred to ensure that every aspect of the products worked exactly how they should.

Product development

Our product development team worked in collaboration with space rocket engineers, to produce a thruster based around the supplied specification that enabled Pulsar to demonstrate the technology and their expertise in the design and development of space propulsion thrusters.

The intention of the create phase of the work was to develop the following items, based on rocket engineering’s specification, to a level suitable for fabrication;

  • Combustion chamber and nozzle.

  • Injector design.

  • Water cooling system.
